The Pinnacles are natural limestone formations in the Nambung National Park, Western Australia.
The park is well known for its unique stunning view of yellow limestone pillars. Those stand up to 3.5 meters in height in an array of shapes. It’s said that the material came from seashells from the time when this area was in the ocean.
It’s worth traveling there as a day trip from Perth, and you can see some some other sightseeing highlights in the west coast of Australia on the way, too.
The park is huge but you should explore on foot!
The inside of the park is accessible by car but walking on foot gives is much more exciting.
After a while, you’d notice that the landscape changes slightly depending on the area. In some areas, the rocks are tall; in other areas, they are not. In some areas, the surface of the rocks are smooth; in other areas, you can sort of see the shape of seashells.
We could only spend around 1 hour in the park (as we joined the one-day tour from Perth), but it’s enough to enjoy this mysterious and fascinating place.

Another highlight on the way back to Perth is white sand dunes
After the Pinnacles, you’ll drop by the white sand dunes – Lancelin Sand Dunes. They suddenly appear in the bus window and stand out so much because of their pure white color and beautiful shapes.
The one-day bus tour will drop by the place and you can try sand-boarding too.

Getting there: It’s approximately 190 km from Perth, which is a 2.5-hour drive. (We joined a one-day tour from Perth.)
Time to be spent: It’ll be one-day trip from Perth to the park. You’ll spend 1-3 hours in the park.
