I had a chance to visit the region around Changbaishan on a business trip recently. It’s a mountain range on the border between China and North Korea. In the depth of winter, covered by snow, every view of the landscape is picturesque. However, the air temperature drops below -30 degrees, meaning it was bitterly cold.
It was my first time to experience -30 degrees. How cold is it? It’s physically painfully cold. Trying to take a photo, I was unable to keep the gloves off for even 10 seconds. But because the landscape is wonderful and lovely, I couldn’t stop taking photo, shouting in pain.
This is the too famous “Heaven Lake”. The opposite side is North Korea.
Sunset time.
